Utah Board of Regents begins consent solicitation for 2011-1 notes

Chicago, Aug. 18 – The Board of Regents of the State of Utah began a consent solicitation process for its 2011-1 notes, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The solicitation includes the $137 million series 2011-1 A-2 notes (Cusip: 917546HX4) and the $55 million series 2011-1 A-3 notes (Cusip: 917546HY2).

The issuer is seeking consent from noteholders to amend the indenture to permit the release of the student loans securing the notes and use the proceeds for the early redemption of the notes.

A majority of the collective aggregate principal amount of the notes is needed to amend the notes.

The solicitation period ends at 5 p.m. ET on Aug. 25.
