Playtex buys back $19.5 million 9 3/8% notes in second quarter, $26 million in July

Des Moines, July 31 - Playtex Products, Inc. repurchased $19.5 million of 9 3/8% notes in the second quarter of 2006 and an additional $26.0 million in July, according to a company release.

Playtex has repurchased $94.5 million in notes so far this year.

As previously reported, the company expects to buy back $100 million in notes during 2006.

Because of these debt repurchases, interest expense is expected to decline by about $8 million in 2006 versus the prior year.

Playtex is a Westport, Conn., personal care and consumer products company.
