Spansion wants more time to solicit votes on reorganization plan
By Lisa Kerner
Charlotte, N.C., March 9 - Spansion Inc. requested a fourth extension to its exclusive period to solicit votes on its plan of reorganization, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
The company wants to extend its solicitation period to April 30 from March 8.
A hearing is scheduled for April 26.
The debtors, the filing said, seek to retain exclusivity until the court issues its ruling on confirmation of the plan or for a short period of time in the event the court does not confirm the plan.
Previously the court extended the solicitation period to March 9 from Jan. 30.
Spansion, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based maker of flash memory products, filed for bankruptcy on March 1, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10690.
