Southern Montana Electric plan proposal selection deadline extended
By Caroline Salls
Pittsburgh, Oct. 22 - The Chapter 11 trustee for Southern Montana Electric Generation and Transmission Cooperative, Inc.'s bankruptcy case received an extension of the deadline for selecting a proposal to form the basis for his plan of reorganization, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Montana.
Specifically, trustee Lee. A. Freeman's deadline was extended to Nov. 16 from Oct. 15.
On July 3, the court approved a motion by the trustee to solicit proposals, with a Sept. 17 deadline for interested parties to respond.
Oct. 15 was the deadline for the trustee to complete the review, consideration, discussion, negotiation and selection of a proposal.
Freeman said he needed additional time because of his wife's recent death.
Southern Montana filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 21, 2011 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Montana. The Billings, Mont.-based cooperative's Chapter 11 case number is 11-62031.
