Silicon Graphics seeks 45-day extension to exclusive periods

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., June 30 - Silicon Graphics, Inc. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company wants to extend the exclusive plan-filing period to Sept. 14 from July 30 and the solicitation period to Nov. 13 from Sept. 28.

Silicon Graphics said it intends to file a plan prior to the expiration of its current exclusive periods but is concerned that complications in negotiations with credits could result in unexpected delays.

A hearing is scheduled for July 22.

Silicon Graphics, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based provider of products and services for use in high-performance computing and data management, filed for bankruptcy on April 1 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-11701.
