Shaw expecting to file late financial statements Sept. 24 week

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., Sept. 20 - The Shaw Group Inc. expects to file financial statements including form 10-Qs for the first two quarters of 2007 and a 10-KA restating fiscal 2006 financials with the Securities and Exchange Commission by the Sept. 24 week, Brian K. Ferraioli, executive vice president of finance and incoming chief financial officer of Shaw, said Thursday during a presentation at the D.A. Davidson 6th Annual Engineering and Construction Conference.

The company is not in compliance with SEC regulations for filing the financial statements.

During Thursday's conference, Ferraioli provided details on the company's process of preparing to submit the late filings.

According to Ferraioli, the filings remain delayed due to one item that remains unresolved. The item relates to Shaw's put option associated with its investment in Westinghouse.

Shaw Group is a Baton Rouge, La.-based provider of engineering, procurement, construction, technology, maintenance, fabrication, manufacturing, consulting, remediation and facilities management services for government and private sector clients in the energy, chemical, environmental, infrastructure and emergency response markets.
