Sazka sales return to pre-bankruptcy levels, up 13.5% since last week

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 21 - Sazka, AS's sales numbers have returned to the level seen "before the bettors lost their faith in the company due to its restructuring," according to a news release.

The company said the overall volume of deposits from the lottery and non-lottery activities about equals the numbers from early May, and sales have been growing continuously since insolvency administrator Josef Cupka's managing team started operating in Sazka's headquarters.

Sazka said overall sales grew by 13.5% from last week.

Last week, the company's most successful lottery was once again Sportka, which increased by another 12% over the previous week.

In addition, Sazka said products in its gaming segment and odds betting are reportedly rising. Sales also rose in ticketing and were positively affected by a recent Bryan Adams concert.

The company said it expects sales to continue to grow, but probably at a slower pace than in recent weeks when a "radical increase was experienced."

Sazka is a Czech Republic lottery company.
