Former Rockport requests exclusivity extension, will file plan soon

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Sept. 11 – Relay Shoe Co., LLC, formerly Rockport Co., LLC, requested an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, Relay is asking the court to extend its exclusive plan-filing period by 90 days through Dec. 10 and the solicitation period through Feb. 11.

Consistent with a supplement to its final debtor-in-possession order, the company said it will file a combined liquidating plan and disclosure statement in the next few days.

According to the motion, a hearing on interim approval of the plan and disclosure statement will be held on Oct. 3, and Relay plans to ask the court to schedule the plan confirmation hearing for Nov. 28.

“The debtors require additional time to pursue confirmation of the combined plan and disclosure statement (beyond the 60 days currently afforded under the exclusive solicitation period) and to address any unforeseen delays,” the motion said.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 3.

Rockport, a West Newton, Mass.-based footwear company, filed bankruptcy on May 14. The Chapter 11 case number is 18-11145.
