Rural/Metro reports $7.1 million of operating income for September

Wilmington, Del., Nov. 15 - Rural/Metro Corp. reported $7.1 million of operating income for September on net revenue of $52.57 million, according to the company's monthly operating report filed Nov. 14 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Those figures compare to operating income of $492,000 on $55.27 million of net revenue for the Aug. 5 through Aug. 31 period.

The net loss for September was $716,000, compared to $14.28 million in August.

The company also reported cash and cash equivalents of $66.06 million as of Sept. 30, up from $49.13 million at the end of August.

Rural/Metro, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based provider of emergency and non-emergency ambulance services and private fire protection, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 5. The Chapter 11 case number is 13-11952.
