Rural/Metro in talks with lenders to extend credit facility maturity

By Sara Rosenberg

New York, May 11 - Rural/Metro Corp. has begun discussions with lenders about amending its credit facility to extend the maturity, according to a 10-Q filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.

As part of the facility, the company currently has an undrawn $20 million revolver that is due on March 4, 2010.

Although it is looking to extend the maturity, given cash flow from operations and lack of usage of the revolver, the company does not believe that the loss of access to the revolver will impact its ability to fund current operations.

Rural/Metro is a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based provider of medical ambulance response services.
