rue21 asks court to continue disclosure hearing to address objections

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 3 – rue21, Inc. asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania to continue the July 10 hearing on approval of its disclosure statement to July 13, according to a motion filed Monday.

The company said it is asking the court to postpone the hearing “to allow the debtors, the committee of unsecured creditors and other parties in interest sufficient time to address certain informal disclosure statement objections raised by the committee.”

rue21 said it believes that the parties may be able to resolve any issues raised by the committee by continuing the hearing.

rue21 is a Warrendale, Pa., specialty retailer focused on teens that filed for bankruptcy on May 15 under Chapter 11 case number 17-22045.
