Relativity Media requests 120-day extension of exclusivity periods

By Mark Reccek

Bethlehem, Pa., Oct. 26 – Relativity Media LLC requested court approval to extend its exclusive periods for filing a Chapter 11 plan of reorganization and soliciting votes on the plan, according to a motion filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company is requesting an extension on its exclusive filing period through March 26 from Nov. 27 and an extension of the solicitation period through May 25, 2016 from Jan. 26.

The company said the extensions are warranted to maintain flexibility and time for negotiations.

The motion added the extensions “will ensure that the debtors are able to capitalize on and continue the progress they have made to date towards their goal of formulation and confirmation of a Chapter 11 plan or plans.”

A hearing on the extension request is scheduled for Nov. 12.

Relativity Media is a media company based in Beverly Hills, Calif., that filed for bankruptcy on July 30. The Chapter 11 case number is 15-11989.
