Refco debtors' assets seized in France

Pittsburgh, Nov. 9 - Refco, Inc. debtors Refco Overseas Ltd.'s and Refco Securities SA's assets were seized in France Wednesday after three €30 million surety orders were entered Tuesday in the Paris High Court at the request of plaintiff Bertrand Jeanne, according to a company news release.

Jeanne is a French public officer representing the interests of Gerard Sillam.

The court ordered a surety of €30 million against the business assets of Refco Securities.

The Refco Overseas assets were seized in the Paris financial institutions of Euronext, BCC; BNP Paribas; Societe Generale and Parel.

Refco Securities' assets were seized in Euronext, BCC; BNP Paribas; Societe Generale and Parel.

Refco, Inc., a New York-based commodities brokerage company, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 17 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-60006.
