Reader's Digest parent posts $3.1 million operating loss for May

Wilmington, Del., June 28 - RDA Holding Co., the parent of the Reader's Digest Association, Inc., posted a $3.1 million operating loss for May on revenue of $22.9 million, according to the company's monthly operating report filed June 28 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
Those figures compare to operating income of $1.4 million for April on revenue of $32.9 million.
The net loss for May was $5.1 million, falling from $61.1 million in April.
The company also reported cash and cash equivalents of $64.2 million as of May 31, down from $73.2 million at the end of April.
Reader's Digest, a subsidiary of RDA Holding Co., is a media and direct marketing company based in New York. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 17 under Chapter 11 case number 13-22233.
