Performance Sports Group requests three-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 1 – Performance Sports Group Ltd. requested an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive filing period through May 29 from Feb. 28 and the solicitation period through July 27 from April 28.

Performance said it has accomplished numerous milestones in the four months it has been in Chapter 11.

“Accomplishing these milestones within a mere four months has been a labor-intensive process, fully occupying the debtors’ employees and substantially all of the debtors’ professionals retained in these Chapter 11 cases, but have set the stage for a successful plan process,” the motion said.

In light of these accomplishments, the company said cause exists to extend the exclusive periods.

A hearing is scheduled for April 12.

Performance is based in Exeter, N.H., and makes sports equipment and apparel. The company filed bankruptcy on Oct. 31 under Chapter 11 case number 16-12373.
