Pharmed plan administrator ordered to make distributions by Aug. 14

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 31 – The administrator for Pharmed Group Holdings, Inc.’s confirmed Chapter 11 plan has been ordered to make all remaining plan distributions by Aug. 14, according to an order filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.

The court denied a request from the plan administrator for a final case decree.

A status report must be filed by Aug. 30, and the administrator was ordered to file a new final decree motion the earlier of 100 days after the disbursements have been made and the date the checks have cleared.

The U.S. Trustee overseeing Pharmed’s bankruptcy case told the court in March that the case should not be closed because the estate is not fully administered.

The plan administrator filed a motion on Feb. 7 seeking a final decree.

As previously reported, Pharmed's plan of liquidation was approved by the court in September 2008.

Pharmed, a Miami-based full-line distributor of medical, surgical and rehabilitative supplies, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 26, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-19187.
