Peabody Energy operating profit falls to $70.2 million in February

Pittsburgh, March 20 – Peabody Energy Corp. posted a $70.2 million operating profit for February on $383.6 million in total revenue, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Those figures compared to the $74.8 million operating profit reported for January on $428.3 million in total revenue.

The net profit for February was $61 million, up from a $50.4 million January net profit.

The company had $1,045,300,000 in cash and cash equivalents as of Feb. 28, up from $965.8 million at the end of January.

Peabody, a St. Louis-based coal producer, filed bankruptcy on April 13, 2016. The Chapter 11 case number is 16-42529.
