MSRB seeks rule changes on muni bond distribution to retail investors

By Susanna Moon

Chicago, June 17 - The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board said it requested approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed rule change to MSRB Rule G-8, Rule G-11 and Rule G-32.

The proposed changes would help to address concerns that new issues of municipal bonds are not being distributed among different types of retail investors according to the preferences of the state or local government issuing the bonds, according to a press release by the MRSRB.
