MSRB changes directors' term lengths to create sequential expirations

By Ashley Montgomery

Kansas City, Kan., Oct. 17 - The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board said it changed the length of terms that members of its board of directors will serve. The changes were made in order to allow terms to expire sequentially, the board said in a news release.

Members Sheryl Bailey, Jay Goldstone, Steve Heaney, Robert Lamb, David Madigan, Alan Polsky and Ben Thompson will remain on the board until Sept. 30, 2013. Robert Fippinger and Noreen White's terms will expire Sept. 30, 2014.

The changes follow the decision to establish a permanent board of 21 members. With the term changes, the members will be divided into three groups of seven.
