Morgan Stanley plans buffered PLUS linked to index basket

Olympia, Wash., Jan. 28 – Morgan Stanley Finance LLC plans to price 0% buffered Performance Leveraged Upside Securities due July 29, 2022 linked to a basket of the Alerian MLP index and the Bloomberg Commodity index, each with a 50% weight, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the return of basket is greater than or equal to its initial value, the payout will be par plus 125% of the basket return, up to par plus 33%.

If the basket falls by up to 20%, the payout will be par.

If the basket falls by more than 20%, investors will lose 1% for every 1% decline of the basket beyond 20%.

The notes are guaranteed by Morgan Stanley.

The notes will price on Jan. 31.
