Morgan Stanley plans principal at risk notes linked to S&P 500

Madison, Wis., Jan. 6 – Morgan Stanley plans to price 0% market-linked principal at risk securities due Jan. 29, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain, subject to a maximum payment of $1,500 to $1,600 per $1,000 principal amount.

If the index falls, investors will lose 1% for every 1% decline up to 10%. The minimum payout is $900 per note.

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC is the agent with UBS Financial Services Inc. as dealer.

The notes will price on Jan. 27 and settle on Jan. 30.

The Cusip number is 61761JVY2.
