S&P gives Moody’s notes BBB+

S&P said it assigned its BBB+ issue-level rating to Moody's Corp.'s proposed $300 million senior notes due 2021.

The rating is the same as the agency’s current rating on the company's existing senior notes.

S&P said it expects Moody's to use the net proceeds to repay a portion of its term loan due 2020.

The agency said the ratings on Moody's reflect the company's scale as a global provider of credit ratings and its well-known global brand.

“We believe these factors will continue to support Moody's ability to maintain its solid market position as one of the leading global credit rating agencies,” S&P said in a news release.
