MidAmerican Energy eyes three-part mortgage bond offer

Virginia Beach, Va., Sept. 12 - MidAmerican Energy Co. is set to price a three-tranche offering of mortgage bonds, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Barclays, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, RBS Securities Inc., BNP Paribas Securities Corp., Mitsubishi UFJ Securities and U.S. Bancorp are the joint bookrunners.

The co-managers are Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Wells Fargo Securities LLC, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Lloyds Securities, KeyBanc Capital Markets, Mizuho Securities, RBC Capital Markets LLC and SMBC Nikko.

The notes will feature a make-whole call.

Proceeds will be used to repay maturing long-term debt, with the remainder for general corporate purposes.

The utility is based in Des Moines.
