Moody's confirms MF Global

Moody's Investors Service said it confirmed the Baa1 long-term issuer rating of MF Global Ltd.

The outlook is negative. The action concludes the review that began on Feb. 28, triggered by the company's $142 million in losses due to unauthorized trading.

The review focused on MF Global's ability to establish a sound long-term capital structure and improve its risk management, while sustaining the company's customer franchise and managing its daily liquidity needs, the agency noted.
