Moody's corrects Metropolitan Edison ratings

Moody's Investors Service said it corrected the ratings of Metropolitan Edison Co.'s $100 million 4.45% senior notes due March 15, 2010 and $150 million of 4.95% senior notes due March 15, 2013 to Baa2 from A3.

The agency said it misclassified these notes as first mortgage bonds. Based on a review of the terms and conditions, the bonds have been reclassified as senior unsecured notes. Metropolitan Edison's senior notes rated at Baa2 are unaffected.
