S&P rates MetLife notes A-

S&P said it assigned an A- debt rating to MetLife Inc.'s proposed senior unsecured notes issuance.

The rating is in line with those on MetLife’s outstanding senior unsecured notes.

MetLife is expected to use the proceeds to fund the redemption of its senior notes due 2024 and for general corporate purposes.

The outlook is stable.
