Merrill Lynch to issue Strategic Return Notes linked to Industrial 15

New York, Jan. 5 - Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. plans to price an issue of 0% Strategic Return Notes due February 2012 linked to the Industrial 15 Total Return index, according to a 424B3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

At maturity the notes pay out the return on the underlying index, reduced by 1.5% a year, multiplied by 99%.

The notes will settle in February.

Merrill has applied to list the notes under "MIF" on the American Stock Exchange and will be the underwriter.
