Mecklenburg County to sell $160.5 million G.O.s in two series on Jan. 23

Springdale, Ark., Jan. 14 - Mecklenburg County in North Carolina plans to price a total of $160.5 million of bonds in two competitive issues Jan. 23.

The county will offer $148.5 million in general obligation public improvement bonds, series 2008B, and $12 million in general obligation parks and recreation bonds, series 2008A.

Both bonds have serial maturities from 2009 to 2028.

The proceeds will be used for projects, including park development, land acquisitions and law enforcement facilities, said Wanda Reeves, debt manager for Mecklenburg County.
