Libbey files shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., June 13 - Libbey Inc. filed a shelf registration for an unspecified amount in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities; common stock; preferred stock; warrants to purchase debt securities, common stock, preferred stock or depositary shares; rights to purchase common stock or preferred stock; securities purchase contracts, securities purchase units and depositary shares.

The debt securities may be convertible.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Toledo, Ohio-based Libbey is a producer of glass tableware products.
