Janney promotes Jody Lurie to fixed-income corporate credit analyst

By Susanna Moon

Chicago, April 28 - Janney Montgomery Scott LLC said it named Jody K. Lurie corporate credit analyst, fixed-income research, after a successful tenure as an investment banker for the firm's consumer and retail group.

Lurie will focus on company debt structures at the micro level, analyzing the factors that contribute to a company's ability to meet debt requirements to arrive at a company's credit quality outlook, according to a company press release.

Lurie plans to analyze companies in a variety of client-focused industries and has begun by initiating research with the autos/auto finance and auto parts industries.

As an investment banker at Janney, Lurie worked with companies in the food and beverage sector along with hard and soft-line retail. Lurie worked on deals including initial public offerings and follow-on offerings, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, fairness opinions and other financial advisory. Before that, Lurie worked at Citigroup-Smith-Barney.

Lurie is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics.

Janney is a financial services firm based in Philadelphia.
