James River Coal shows operating loss of $1.5 million during November

New York, Dec. 31 – James River Coal Co. reported a $1.51 million operating loss for November on total revenue of $3.97 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Dec. 30 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
In comparison, James River posted an operating loss of $7.43 million on total revenue of $5.35 million for October.
The net loss for November was $2.5 million, improving from an $8.33 million loss in October.
The company also reported cash and cash equivalents of $7.15 million as of Nov. 30, from $9.28 million as of Oct. 31.
James River, a coal company based in Richmond, Va., filed for bankruptcy on April 7, 2014 under Chapter 11 case number 14-31848.
