Istanbul starts investor calls for first dollar green bond

Chicago, Nov. 27 – Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi) (B3//B) started investor calls on Monday for its first green bond, according to a source.

The municipality is planning to issue a dollar-denominated five-year benchmark bond.

Distribution will be through Rule 144A and Regulation S.

BofA Securities, Emirates NBD Capital, ING, JPMorgan and Societe Generale have been chosen as joint bookrunners.

ING is also working as the sustainability structuring adviser.

Proceeds will be used to finance eligible green projects under the municipality’s sustainable finance framework.

A second-party opinion on the sustainable finance framework was provided by Sustainalytics.
