ISDA launches CDS Standard Model

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Feb. 26 - International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. has launched the ISDA CDS Standard Model as an open-source project, according to an ISDA news release.

The association said the model has its basis in J.P. Morgan's CDS Analytical Engine, which was transferred to ISDA on Jan. 29.

"ISDA's primary goal in making the code available is to enhance transparency and to optimize use of standard technology for CDS pricing," Robert Pickel, executive director and chief executive officer of ISDA, said in the release.

Markit Group is the administrator of the project.

The code is available through an open-source license at www.cdsmodel.com.
