Markit says U.S. leveraged loans index up 0.31% in week of April 23

New York, April 30 - The Markit iBoxx USD Leveraged Loans index improved by 0.31% in the week of April 23, versus a 0.29% gain in the week of April 16, according to data from Markit Group Ltd.

The Markit iBoxx USD Liquid Leveraged Loans index was up 0.37%, compared to a 0.37% rise in the prior week.

Year to date, the Leveraged Loans index is up 4.45%, and the Liquid Leveraged Loans index has gained 4.89%.

The average bid in North America was 93.87, compared to 93.35 in the week of April 16.

"It was another solid week for loans, particularly in North America," said Otis Casey, director and loan market analyst at Markit.

"Demand for paper is being boosted by CLOs, and our loan indexes are at high water marks for the year," Casey added.
