IA Clarington hires Sujitno as a vice president and portfolio manager

Minneapolis, Sept. 9 - IA Clarington Investments Inc. hired Jeff Sujitno as a vice president and portfolio manager, according to a press release.

"My specialty in floating-rate senior loans is well suited for a rising interest rate environment, and this is a relatively new asset class for Canadian advisers and investors that we hope to expand," Sujitno said in the release.

"Jeff's hiring further strengthens our capabilities in the large and growing market for income mandates. ... We continue to see tremendous opportunities in the income segment, driven by Canadian investors' appetite for yield," president David Scandiffio said in the release.

In his most recent role, Sujitno was lead portfolio manager for the fixed income and credit mandates of a boutique Canadian investment firm. There, he managed several funds, led the fixed income team and created the firm's senior loan business.

Earlier, he managed institutional funds investing in mezzanine loans and private equity on behalf of Canada's largest pension plans.

Toronto's IA Clarington is a subsidiary of Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. The company markets investment products, including mutual funds and segregated funds managed by portfolio advisers.
