Huntington Longer Duration Fixed Income Fund plans launch

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, July 6 - The Huntington Funds announced it will launch a new fund that invests primarily in investment-grade debt securities, according to an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Huntington Longer Duration Fixed Income Fund will offer trust shares. The ticker symbol has not yet been set.

The fund seeks total return from income and potential gains by investing at least 80% of its total assets in a non-diversified portfolio of investment-grade fixed-income instruments of varying maturities. The fixed-income investments may include bonds, debt securities and other similar instruments issued by U.S. and non-U.S. public- or private-sector entities.

The average portfolio duration of the fund will normally be within two years of the duration of the Barclays Capital Long Term Government/Credit Index, which was 14.72 years as of May 31. The fund may invest up to 20% of its total assets in securities denominated in foreign currencies and beyond this limit in dollar-denominated securities of foreign issuers.

Kirk F. Mentzer is the portfolio manager.

There are no shareholder fees. Management fees will run 0.5%, with total annual fund operating expenses expected at 1.08%.

Columbus, Ohio-based Huntington Asset Advisors, Inc. is the fund's investment adviser.
