A&P posts $146.51 million net gain for Nov. 8 through Dec. 5 period

Bethlehem, Pa., Jan. 15 – The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Inc. (A&P) reported a $146.51 million net gain for the period of Nov. 8 through Dec. 5 on $41.82 million in sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

For the period of Oct. 11 through Nov. 7, the company posted a $156.46 million net gain on $183.54 million in sales.

Also, the company had $329.3 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Dec. 5, compared to $203.57 as of Nov. 7.

Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea, a Montvale, N.J.-based supermarket chain, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 12, 2010. Its Chapter 11 case number is 10-24549.
