Green Field Energy eyes 120-day extension of exclusivity periods

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 14 - Green Field Energy Services, Inc. asked the court to extend its exclusive periods for filing a Chapter 11 plan and soliciting acceptances by about 120 days, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend the filing period to June 24 and the solicitation period to Aug. 25, the filing stated.

Green Field filed a motion for the request "out of an abundance of caution" as the debtors have already filed the plan "and hope and believe they will be able to confirm the plan prior to the expiration of the exclusive solicitation period."

Green Field is a Lafayette, La.-based energy services company that operates in the well services and hydraulic fracturing services lines. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 27 under Chapter 11 case number 13-12783.
