Fitch ups Goldman Sachs International rating
Fitch Ratings said it upgraded Goldman Sachs International's senior secured and senior unsecured long-term debt ratings to A+ from A. The ratings are no longer under criteria observation.
Fitch said it equalized the senior secured and senior unsecured debt ratings with GSI's current A+ long-term issuer default rating using its “Non-Bank Financial Institutions Rating Criteria” published in February.
“Fitch's rating is agnostic to the secured nature of GSI's senior secured notes. From time to time, GSI issues senior notes that are guaranteed by its parent, Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (GS). Since GSI is currently rated one notch higher than GS, the guarantee currently provides a ratings floor of A for GSI's senior guaranteed debt,” the agency said in a press release.
