Getinge, Datascope merger gets antitrust approval

Knoxville, Tenn., Jan. 29 - Getinge AB and Datascope Corp. announced jointly that they have received antitrust approval from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for their proposed merger.
As previously reported, Datascope agreed in September to be acquired by Getinge for $53 per share, or a reported $865 million.
Getinge is now free under both European and U.S. antitrust laws to close the transaction. It intends to accept for payment shares validly tendered at the expiration of the tender offer at midnight ET on Jan. 29, and expects to close the transaction on Jan. 30 in a $53-per-share cash tender offer.
Getinge is a medical device company based in Getinge, Sweden, and Datascope is a Montvale, N.J., medical device company
