Jefferies hires Bhatia as managing director, equity capital markets

Madison, Wis., Aug. 10 - Jefferies & Co., Inc. announced the addition of Kamlesh Bhatia as a managing director responsible for private placement origination within the firm's equity capital markets group.

Bhatia has more than 10 years of investment banking experience, including five years in the equity capital market groups at Piper Jaffray and Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he originated, structured and executed over $3 billion of privately negotiated equity and equity-linked transactions for public and private clients.

Before that, he spent four years in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Bhatia received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri and a B.S. from the University of Bombay.

Jefferies is a securities and investment banking firm based in New York.
