By Jeff Pines

Washington, Jan. 6 - King & Spalding LLP said Slayton "Slate" Dabney Jr. was joining the firm as a partner in its New York office.

"Slate's experience handling complex bankruptcy matters further expands our ability to resolve our clients' bankruptcy-related challenges," said Michael J. O'Brien, managing partner of the firm's New York office.

Dabney comes to the firm from McGuireWoods LLP, where he had practiced since 1974. In 1985, Dabney started specializing in commercial bankruptcies and corporate restructurings.

King & Spalding has a 30-lawyer financial restructuring group based in New York and Atlanta.
