Deutsche hires Johnson from Merrill
New York, Jan. 8 - Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown Inc. said it hired Chris Johnson as managing director and senior leveraged finance originator. Johnson was previously chairman of global leveraged finance at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he worked for 14 years.
In his new position, Johnson will be responsible for originating leveraged finance transactions with corporate clients, Deutsche said.
The investment bank noted Johnson has 15 years of experience in leveraged finance spanning all aspects of the market, including acquisition finance, high yield bonds, leveraged lending and financial sponsor coverage.
"Chris has a wealth of experience, an outstanding reputation and extensive client relationships," said Richard Byrne, head of financial sponsors, leveraged and structured finance at Deutsche, in a news release. "He will be a valuable addition to our team."
