DBRS gives GM Financial notes BBB

DBRS said it assigned a BBB rating to General Motors Financial Co., Inc.’s $400 million floating-rate senior notes and $850 million 2.45% senior notes due Nov. 6, 2020, as well as the $750 million 3.5% senior notes due Nov. 7, 2024.

The trend is stable.

The rating reflects the ownership of the company and considers the increasing share of GM Financial earning assets that are General Motors-related, the agency explained.

Moreover, the strong financial and operational interconnectedness between GM Financial and GM and the importance of GM Financial as a provider of dealer and consumer automotive financing underpin the ratings, DBRS said.
