GS Finance plans leveraged buffered notes linked to Euro Stoxx 50

Tacoma, Wash., Oct. 23 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 30-month 0% leveraged buffered notes linked to the Euro Stoxx 50 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of the index return, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $1,401 per $1,000 principal amount of notes. Investors will receive par if the index declines by 20% or less and will lose 1.25% for every 1% that the index may decline beyond 20%.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
The Cusip number is 40054LXW9.
