By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., May 20 - Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price 0% series A buffered participation notes with digital coupon linked to the Euro Stoxx 50 index, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to price 53 to 62 weeks after pricing.

If the final index level is greater than or equal to the initial level, the payout at maturity will be par plus a digital coupon of 8% to 9.4% that will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will be exposed to any losses beyond the 10% buffer.

The notes (Cusip: 064159486) are expected to price May 21 and settle May 29.

Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. is the underwriter with Goldman Sachs & Co. as dealer.
