Eksportfinans plans issue of notes linked to S&P 500

By Jennifer Chiou

New York, Jan. 10 - Eksportfinans ASA said it plans to issue double-opportunity notes linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The redemption amount will depend on the performance of the index on the determination date. Investors will receive two times the return on the index, up to a 113% return - the maximum redemption amount - if the final index level is greater than the initial index level; par if the final index level is between 95% of the initial index level and the initial index level; and investors will share in the losses with a 5% supplement on the loss if the final index is less than 95% of the initial index level.

The pricing date will be Jan. 27 and the settlement date will be Feb. 1.

Eksportfinans' issuer ratings are Aaa, AA+ and AAA.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. will be the agent.
