Fitch assigns A- to Edison notes

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A- rating to Edison International Inc.'s senior unsecured notes.

Proceeds will be used to repay senior notes scheduled to mature in Sept. 2017.

The outlook is stable.

Fitch said the ratings are supported by strong and relatively predictable utility subsidiary cash flows. The agency estimates Edison’s consolidated FFO-adjusted leverage and debt/EBITDA will estimate 3.6 times to 4 times and 3.4 times to 3.5 times, respectively, during 2017 - 2020.

Fitch's projections consider SCE's large capex program and incorporate attrition rate increases authorized in its 2015 general rate case (GRC).
