Durango's Chapter 15 case closed after Mexican plan takes effect

Pittsburgh, Oct. 1 - Corporacion Durango SAB de CV's Chapter 15 bankruptcy case was closed after the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York agreed to recognize an order confirming the company's Mexican Business Reorganization Act plan of reorganization, according to a Wednesday court filing.

The bankruptcy court also permanently enjoined all parties from filing or continuing any U.S. lawsuit against the company, its subsidiaries and its officers and directors.

According to the filing, the Mexican plan took effect on Aug. 27.

Durango is Mexico's largest paper maker. It made a Chapter 15 bankruptcy filing on Oct. 6, 2008. The case number is 08-13911.
