Dura operating loss improves to $3.01 million for period ended Aug. 26

Portland, Ore., Sept. 27 - Dura Automotive Systems, Inc. reported a $3.01 million operating loss for the four weeks ended Aug. 26 on $83.34 million in total sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures compare with a $13.43 million operating loss for the four weeks ended July 29 on $54 million in total sales.

The net loss for the August period was $11.41 million, an improvement over July's $21.31 million net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents were $13.60 million at Aug. 26, compared with $6.85 million at July 29.

Dura, a Rochester Hills, Mich.-based automotive parts maker, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 30, 2006 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-11202.
